FishWise is a non-profit seafood sustainability consultancy dedicated to promoting ocean conservation through partnerships with key players in the industry. FishWise partners with retailers, distributors, fishers, aquaculturists, and other stakeholders to create a more transparent chain of custody and to increase the amount of sustainable seafood available to American consumers. Using a variety of tools and programs including point-of-purchase materials, employee training, strategic planning, publicity, scientific fishery analysis, and sourcing support, FishWise is paving the way for a more sustainable future for the seafood industry.

FishWise is also a founding organization of the Conservation Alliance for Seafood Solutions and its Common Vision. FishWise supports the precepts of the Common Vision and works to promote environmentally responsible seafood in all its partnerships. The seafood industry can make important contributions to the health of ocean ecosystems, upon which their seafood departments depend, by adopting the provisions set out in the Common Vision. FishWise, along with its Conservation Alliance partners is interested in working with companies to achieve this vision. By offering businesses the tools and information they need to become more sustainable, FishWise hopes to ensure the long term viability of important ocean resources.
