A group has started a campaign for folks to wear blue on January 13th to show public support for the oceans. In June 2009, President Obama created an Ocean Policy Task Force of 23 members who will develop a national policy for the oceans and lakes. Public input has been gathered during six public hearings held last year, and the Task Force submitted an interim report on September 17th. A final report is expected to be complete at the end of January, hence wearing blue on January 13th to show support.
